John (Jack) Sandstrom, 65, of 770 E. Albert Dr., No. 32, Manitowoc, died early Saturday morning, April 29, 1989 at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Rev. Richard E. Lind will officiate with cremation to take place. Military rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Otto Oas Post 659 of Manitowoc.

Mr. Sandstrom was born June 18, 1923 at Scanlon, Minnesota, son of the late Aldrich and Myrtle Olsen Sandstrom. He married Cleo Testerpainter, April 9. 1965 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Mr. Sandstrom was employed for 20 years on the Medusa Challenger as an Oiler until his retirement. He was a life member of V.F.W. Otto Oas Post 659, American Legion Post, 28?, and S.L.U. of Campsprings, Maryland. Mr. Sandstrom was a Veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946.

Survivors include his wife, Cleo of Manitowoc, a daughter, Jacqueline (Boyd) Barber of Sarasota, Florida; a stepson and his wife, Dennis and Barbara Painter of Cloquet, Minnesota; three step daughters, Mrs. Howard (Roberta) Shull of Cloquet, Minnesota, Mrs. Douglas (Patricia) Pertler of Cloquet, Minnesota and Mrs. Arthur (Sandra) Tulino of Ashtabula, Ohip; a brother, Robert Sandstrom of Cloquet, Minnesota; a half brother, Victor Olsen of Washington D.C.; a half sister, Mrs. James (Elaine) Sheridan of Superior, Wisconsin; 16 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and special friends, Karen and roger Krebsbach of Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by a great granddaughter.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 pm to 8 pm this Monday.
