Alison Jane Cranson, a resident of Cumming, GA, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Northside Forsyth Hospital on December 26, 2019 at the age of 74.

Alison is survived by her loving husband Carroll (Cal) Cranson; her son, Marc Cranson; her daughter Michele Heindl and son-in-law Chris Heindl; and her grandsons Cole Heindl and Luke Heindl.
Alison was born in Syracuse, NY on February 23, 1945 to Albert and Evelyn Eberz. She attended Chenango Valley High School and then graduated from Cazenovia College in 1965. After college, she worked at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, NY. She loved music, dancing and driving her ’65 Mustang convertible. On September 16, 1967, she married Cal, who was just starting his career with IBM after serving with the Air Force in Vietnam. They first settled in Saugerties, NY, then eventually moved to Raleigh, NC and finally Tampa, FL. After retirement, Alison and Cal moved to Georgia to be near their grandchildren, whom they adored.

Alison was an incredibly strong and brave woman, battling severe rheumatoid arthritis since age 13. Despite the constant pain, she never let RA stop her from enjoying life. Alison drew strength from her Catholic faith and the devotion to her family. She loved to play golf, go to the beach, fishing and going to the movies. After moving to Florida, she became a die-hard Florida Gators fan and most fall afternoons you could find her in front of the television cheering on her Gators.

Visitation is scheduled for 11:00am to 1:00pm on January 2, 2020, with a memorial service following at 1:00pm at the Ingram Funeral Home at 210 Ingram Avenue in Cumming.

Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, 210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA 30040 is in charge of arrangements.
