Mr. Allen was born in Lake Butler. He lived in Jacksonville for seven years and Hialeah for eight years before returning to Lake Butler in 1964. He was a retired lieutenant for the Florida Department of Corrections. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in Japan.
Mr. Allen was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lake Butler and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Allen of Lake Butler; two daughters, Rita Waters of Providence and Elaine Andrews of Lake Butler; a son, Curtis E. Allen of Lake Butler; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
