Adam Baumberger, 53, passed away on December 27, 2019 with family by his side.
His visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019 at St. Mary's Church, 460 NW Washington Ave., Elkhart, Iowa 50073. His funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 also at St. Mary's. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service and at Ankeny Memorial Gardens, 4208 N. Ankeny Blvd., Ankeny, Iowa.
Adam was born in Dell Rapids, South Dakota to David and Marcia Baumberger. He spent his childhood and teenage years fishing, playing football, helping with the family trucking company, and (like most teenage boys) getting into a little bit of trouble here and there, but never anything too serious. His family moved from South Dakota, to Colorado, and eventually to Iowa where he met and married his wife, Sarah.
Adam loved the outdoors and enjoyed canoeing and camping with his family, going on bike rides, teaching his daughters to shoot, playing catch or throwing a football around, golfing, and taking motorcycle trips to Missouri to get fireworks for the annual 4th of July bash at his brother's house.
He enjoyed telling stories to anyone who'd listen. Some of his favorites to tell were the time his brother tricked him into shooting a hole in the window screen with his BB gun, ice fishing and snowmobiling on Lake Herman in South Dakota , winning the vocational school state championship, traveling Europe with his work buddies, and the time he made the "final assault on the summit!" of Pikes Peak in Colorado.
Adam is survived by his two daughters, Casey and Parker; his wife, Sarah; his parents, David and Marica; his brother, Troy (Lisa); niece, Tori and nephew, Austin; his sister, Kelli (Joe); nephew, David; and countless friends and family.
Adam also made the brave choice to be an organ donor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harbor of Hope Mission or Iowa Donor Network.
