Obituary:
Ronald H. Johnson passed away on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012. A graduate of Thyne Institute and Virginia State University, he was born in Chase City, and became a member of the Concord Baptist Church at an early age where he taught Sunday School later in life. He was the second son of Mack H. and Hattie H. Johnson (deceased). Upon completion of ROTC training at Virginia State, he served active duty in the Korean conflict as first lieutenant in the US Army. His studies and interests as a teacher were in the fields of agriculture and mathematics. After his tenure in education, he moved to New Jersey and worked with his younger brother in the furniture business. Upon his retirement, he moved back to Virginia. His final years were spent at Sitter and Barfoot Veterans Care Center, Richmond. Ronald was a sports enthusiast and loved to play golf.

Predeceased by three brothers and two sisters, he leaves to mourn two brothers: Dr. Anthony Johnson, Silver Spring, Md., and Roger Johnson, Chase City; four sisters: Cora J. Coleman, Knoxville, Tenn., Dr. Mercile J. Lee, Madison, Wis., Dr. Ida J. Hill, Chesterfield, Ellinor Washington, Woodbridge; four sisters-in law: Naomi Johnson, Dr. Ernestine Johnson, Gail Johnson, and Bonnie Johnson; one brother-in-law A. Byrdell Coleman and a host of loving nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at the education annex, Concord Baptist Church, Chase City, Virginia on Dec. 28, at 1 p.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
