Funeral services for Ms. Alice Jean Cook Adams, age 73, of Souwilpa, AL, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 15, 2019, at Phillips Funeral Home in Gilbertown, AL, with Reverend Randy Grimes officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. just prior to the service at Phillips Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service in the Advent Cemetery in Silas, AL.

Ms. Adams was born on August 15, 1946, in Tuscaloosa, AL. She passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019, at Washington County Infirmary in Chatom, AL. She was a member of New Lusk Church, enjoyed gardening and she was an avid football fan.

She is survived by her companion, Homer Johnson of Souwilpa, AL; son, Kenny Adams (Becky) of Souwilpa, AL; daughters, Renee Adams Lewis of Mobile, AL and Jennifer Adams Dixon (Kenny) of Gilbertown, AL; grandchildren, Josh Dixon, Ashton Lewis, Katlin Adams, Cana Mercado, Morgan Dixon, Caroline Adams, and Tyler Lewis; and soon to arrive great grandchild, Emery Arabella Mercado.

She was preceded in death by her father, Hebron Cook; mother, Thelma Eileen Thompson Cook; and step father Rex Rudder.

Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Stephens, Larry Singley, Mason Bonner, Wyatt Coody, Trent Singley, and Danuel Hendrix. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Harlan Johnson.
