Mecea's birth name was Artemissa. She also went by the name Mesa for a while but Mecea was the name is used from the 1920's on through the rest of her life.

John Pinkney Burdette. (Born Feb. 18, 1866 - Died Feb. 3, 1908, married Dec. 12, 1896.) Two daughters; Dorothy Evelyn Burdette Jones (Feb 17, 1898 - Nov 28, 1981) and Beulah Burdette Tacklind (Aug. 31,1901 - Jan 14,, 1990).
