S SGT US ARMY AIR FORCES∼HARGREAVES-TANZI, ANNALEE ELSA Annalee Elsa Hargreaves-Tanzi passed away suddenly on May 1, 2012 with her loving husband at her side. Annalee was born in San Diego on September 29, 1943 to Annalee Marston Hargreaves and Harry C. Hargreaves. She graduated from Grossmont High School and attended San Diego State, UC Berkeley and graduated from UC Irvine with both French and Spanish degrees.
As a third-generation San Diegan and fourth-generation Californian, Annalee was very proud of her roots and was active in deep-rooted San Diego organizations such as ZLAC Rowing Club, Wednesday Club and Save Our Heritage Organization's (SOHO-San Diego) efforts with the Marston House. Her love of San Diego was ever evident when she shared the history of the City and its landmarks with friends.
Annalee's wit and humor, her hearty, contagious laugh, and her delicious baked goodies were shared with and enjoyed by her many friends and loved ones. All will miss her smile, laughter and generous and giving spirit.
Hargreaves-Tanzi is preceded in death by her parents and her brother in-law Dave Cox. She is survived by her husband Vito Tanzi and her stepson Richard Tanzi, her sister Maggie Cox, her nieces Cathleen Cox Stugard (Steve), Margo Cox Gunderson (Matt) and Sarah Cox Aquino (John), her great nieces and nephew Annalee Gunderson, Ellie Aquino, Meg Gunderson, Andrew Aquino, Caroline Gunderson and Elsa Gunderson, and by her many friends and loved ones. Visitation is Thursday, May 3 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St Mary's Chapel at All Saints' Episcopal Church. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 4 at 11 a.m. at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 625 Pennsylvania Avenue in San Diego. In lieu of flowers, donations can be be made to SOHO earmarked for the Marston House: 2476 San Diego Ave, San Diego, CA 92110.
