He is survived by two sons, Walter Nathan Cook Sr. of San Pedro, California, and Michael A. Cook of Visalia, California; six stepchildren; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Gary Cook and Thomas (Lynn) Cook, and a sister, Pamela (Ron) Corbin, all of Galesburg; an aunt, Donna Moore of Spring Hill, Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike was preceded in death by both his parents.
For the last 20 years Mike was a long haul truck driver. His last business partner was Angelo Verdelotti, who was more like a brother than a business partner or friend to Mike. Mike loved spending his precious time off with his sons and grandchildren or by riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
He loved going to football games and also tried to make it to as many of Michael's cage fighting events as possible.
A celebration of life will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020, at the Knoxville American Legion in Knoxville, Illinois. All family and friends are invited to attend to celebrate Mike's life.
