Adeline Elizabeth (Brekke) Day, age 89 of New Lisbon, WI passed away July 20, 2007 at Crestview Nursing Home in New Lisbon. She was born May 1, 1918 to Leonard and Rose Brekke at Greenbush, MN. She was united in marriage to her Childhood sweetheart Delford Day, December 25, 1941. To this union were born seven children, Daniel (Beverly) of Dandridge, TN, Stephen (Brenda) of New Lisbon, Timothy (Vivian) of Palm City, FL, Thomas (Susan) of Ft. Riley, KS, Elizabeth (Charles) Copeman of Chatfield MN, James (Monica) of New Lisbon, WI, and Eunice (Douglas) Nofsinger of New Lisbon, WI.
She is survived by her husband Delford, seven children, a host of grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, one sister, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, and four grandchildren.
She was a faithful wife, mother, and grandmother. Because her husband was a Baptist pastor, she served faithfully by his side in churches in several states and in Canada. After much moving to different Places, many joyful and trying situations, her sojourn in this life is finished. To be absent from the body is to be present with the lord. She is home at last.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 23, 2007, 6:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in New Lisbon, WI. Pastor Vernon Parks will officiate. Burial will follow at the Bayview Cemetery in Necedah, WI. Family and friends are invited for visitation Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with lunch before the service at the First Baptist Church in New Lisbon.
