George died at his home, 401 N. Grove St., Normal, IL. He had heart problems. He was the owner of the Flying Valentinos, flying trapeze act. Husband of Lorraine Mather, married Sept. 15, 1935 in Peoria. He was the father of Cherie Diane Valentine. and the son of George Washington and Lillian Richards Valentine.

He was a brother to Mabel, Charles, William, Roy, Fred, Lillian and Geraldine Valentine.

He trained at the YMCA in Bloomington with Harry LaMar to learn the flying trapeze and he taught his brothers, Fred, Roy and Bill. In 1947, he bought a huge horse stables from Bill Caudell, at 401 N. Grove St. in Normal, IL and turned it into a flying trapeze practice barn. In 1932, George was the catcher for the Flying Concellos on the Ringling Bros. Circus.

He was a member of the Louis Davis American Legion Post, Wade Barney Masonic Lodge, Bloomington Consistory and the Mohammed Shrine of Peoria. George served in the Army in World War I, serving in France.
