Born in Columbia (Marion County) Mississippi to Estus and Alice Young. She was the 16th of 18 children born to this union. She was united with St. Paul AME Church at an early age. On December 20th 1941, she was united in holy matromony to Mr. Virgil Crawford. They were married for 5 years. She then moved to Hattiesburg, Ms. On August 6th, 1946 she was married to Mr. Robert E. Williams Sr. To that union, 3 children were born-2 still born and 1 daughter surviving. That union lasted for 22 years, ending in 1968. She moved to Jackson, Ms. and worked for various families as a housekeeper until her health failed and she was forced to retire in 1975. She lived the remaining 25 years doting on her daughter whom she loved dearly. She had one grandchild prior to her death, and she cherished her. She suffered a stroke on June 4th, 1999 and 8 months later on March 13, 2000, she passed away.
