Carol Frances (Akard) Wheat, 85 of Greenwood, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 in Indianapolis.
She was born on August 3, 1934 in Martinsville, Indiana to James Miller Akard and Daisy Belle (Parker) Akard. Carol married James Wheat on September 16, 1953. She is survived by her husband, Jim; children, James Edwin (Beth) Wheat; John Lyle (Erin) Wheat; Sherri Jo (Richard) Burton and Kristi Marie (Michael) Long; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way. Also surviving is her foster brother, Duane Early and sister-in-law, Doloris Akard. She was preceded in passing by her parents and brother, James Edwin Akard.
She was a 1952 graduate of Greenwood High School.
Carol was a Legal Secretary. She later was employed by Lawyers Title Corp as a Loan Closer and Manager in Greenwood and Franklin, retiring in 2001.
She attended Greenwood Christian Church and was a member of Bethany Christian Church.
Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood, Indiana.
