Shirley Marie Pippel was born on June 8, 1936 in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She was raised in Wyoming, Michigan by her mother Emma, grandmother Clara, and her grandfather "Poppy".

Her home, school, church, and work were in Godwin Heights, a center of growth and change in the 1940's and 50's.

She is survived by her brother, Skip and Lynne Cox of Northridge, CA; sister-in-law, Joanne and Keith Nieboer of Holland, MI; and sister-in-law, Marlene Cox, whose husband Jack Cox preceded Shirley in death. Also surviving are her children, Craig and Teresa Pippel, Brad and Lois Pippel; grandchildren, Ben Pippel, Jake Pippel, Kelsey and Rob Lewis, all of West Michigan.

She raised her family in Grandville, MI with her husband of 60 years, Vernon Jay Pippel who survives.

Unmovable in faith and submitted to Jesus Christ, she passed on June 19, 2018. Her happiness in this life is surpassed by her hope in His Kingdom.

A private graveside service was held on June 22. The family invites and eagerly welcomes all friends and loved ones to attend a memorial service on Saturday, June 30 at River of God Church, 4607 68th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. A celebration lunch and remembrances will immediately follow.
