Welsh was born Feb. 5, 1949 in Houston to Ernest and Kathryn (Fincher) Dunham. She was the youngest of three children, and married her high school sweetheart, Michael J. Welsh.
They traveled the world during his military service in the Army. She loved history and was a member of the Red Hat Ladies. She was also a member of Carter Lake Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mike Welsh; and one sister, Ernestine Parr
