November 23, 2008 Laura Distin, former 60-year resident of the West Side of Syracuse, passed away Sunday after a short illness. She was born in Fulton on June 18, 1920. She was a graduate of Percy Hughes High School in 1938 and from Central City Business Institute in 1939. Laura retired from Allied Chemical with over 40 years of service. Her passion was bridge and she proudly achieved Grand Master. She was a member of West Genesee United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her brother, Richard Distin of CA; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday December 1, 2008, with a memorial service to follow at 7 p.m. at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 Rt. 31, Baldwinsville.
