Nancy Diane Waugh, 64, of rural Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 surrounded by her loved ones.

Nancy was born on November 22, 1955 in Coffeyville to Paul C Shaw, Jr. and Bernardine (Caulfield) Shaw. She grew up in in Coffeyville where she attended Holy Names Catholic School and graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School.

On July 31, 1976 she married the love of her life, Michael D. Waugh. Nancy was a loving mother and homemaker; she enjoyed raising their two children, Bridget and Jimmy. She also owned and operated Waugh’s Kennel, raising dogs for nearly 38 years.

Nancy was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. Nancy enjoyed her own hobbies of crocheting and sewing, but most of all, she enjoyed being a part of her children’s activities. She was always the first mother to volunteer for school functions and always on the sideline at every game, match, or activity they participated in. Nancy was known for always opening up her home and her table to anyone who stopped by for a home cooked meal; while the kitchen was small, her meals were plenty and no one was turned away. Nancy’s enjoyment later turned to her grandchildren; she loved sharing videos and pictures of them! She attended soccer, basketball, and football games, and school programs; she went to grandparents’ day festivities and book fairs, and in her last few years, she enjoyed driving her grandchildren to school every day. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. They loved and adored their Nana just as much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Bernadine Shaw and her mother-in-law, Patricia Waugh.

Surviving to honor her memory are her loving husband, Michael “Mike” Waugh of the home; children, Bridget Brown and husband, Frank of Webb City, Missouri; Jimmy Waugh and wife, Racey of Edna, Kansas; grandchildren, Brady and Kensi Brown, Camden, Adalynn and Paislee Waugh; brothers, Paul C Shaw III and wife, Suzi of Waikoloa, Hawaii, Charles D Shaw and wife, Paula of Euless, Texas, her cousin Jeff Shaw and wife, Kara of Payson, Arizona, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.

The family would like to thank all those who cared for Nancy in her final days, especially her dear friend Iona.

Following Nancy’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January, 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Edna Elm Grove Cemetery. Chaplain Keith Springer with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice will officiate.
