Obituary.
Mrs. Ella Snyder Arnold was born in Marion county, Ohio, 1855, and died at her home in Geuda Springs, Kansas, of pneumonia, Feb. 15, 1921, aged 65 years, 2 months and 12 days. She was married to Brother Robt. Arnold, in Scotland county, Missouri, about 1877. To this union were born two children, Albert and Daisy, who died at the age of 18 and 12, respectively. Brother Robt. Arnold died May 4, 1918.
From Missouri they came to Kansas in 1885 and to Geuda Springs in 1886. There are left to mourn her departure five brothers, B. Franklin Snyder, Burton, Kan.; since died, Lemuel C. Snyder, Iola, Kans., Silas Frederick, Atwood, Kans., Edward H. Snyder, Savannah, Mo., Wm. H. Snyder, Kansas City, Mo. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church at Geuda, of which she was a faithful member, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Young, assisted by Rev. Miss Lucy White, of Geuda Springs Christian church.
In the death of Mrs. Arnold the community loses one who was loved by all for her gentle manner and sincere womanly character. She was converted in her teens and later professed holiness as a second work of grace and she truly lived the life of perfect love. Her last work on earth before she took to her bed was for the church and her Lord whom she loved so well. Her life was a beautiful example of love, self denial and thoughtfulness for the comfort and help of others. Her sweet Christian has been a source of inspiration and blessing to the writer many times. It can truly be said "she lived for others."
The respect and love in which she was held in the town and community in which she lived was shown by the large concourse of friends and their beautiful floral offerings.
