John H. "Buddy" Sexton, Anderson, passed away July 24, 2007, at Community Hospital Anderson after an extended illness.

He was born February 26, 1952, in Union County, TN, and lived most of his life in Anderson. He attended Anderson High School and worked for the City of Anderson as a Deputy Humane Officer at the Animal Shelter for 25 years.

He was a member of Fellowship Masonic Lodge 681 F&AM, Murat Shrine Club, Madison County Shrine Club (where he served on the board of directors), Fraternal Order of Eagles 174, Moose Lodge 150 and American Legion SAL 127. His love and enjoyment was his family and music. He played in several area bands, including Southern Breeze.

He is survived by his wife, Elnora M. Sexton of Anderson; children, John Clayton (wife, Stephanie) Sexton of Anderson, Michelle (husband, Chris) Ray of Anderson, Michelle (husband, Jeremy) Slaven of Muncie, Mark A. Morris of Muncie, Sondra Sexton of Anderson, Tonya Sexton of Anderson and Eric Wilson (wife, Tina) Sexton of Anderson; mother, Geneva Sexton of Anderson; special mother-in-law, Georgie Koerber; nine grandchildren, including his special grandchildren, Libby, Maddie, Cooper Henry, Bella and Jaccob; brother, Jackie Q. (wife, Lucy) Flatford of Union County, Tenn.; sister, Sharlet South of Anderson; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Michael Pettigrew.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arvil Lee Sexton.
