Ken passed away on Monday morning, January 20, 2020 following a lengthy illness. He was born in Otsego, Michigan on July 5, 1927, the son of Fay Ernest and Helen Marie Hall. Following high school, Ken honorably served our country in the United States Army. Upon return to Kalamazoo, he began his long career in the restaurant business. He was co owner of Ken and Tom's Restaurant for many years. Eventually, he and his wife, Linda owned and operated Ken and Linda's Restaurant on South Burdick Street. After their time with Ken and Linda's Restaurant came to a close, Ken decided to go to work at Western Michigan University working in the Food Services Department. Ken enjoyed people and serving others, as many were witness to his years in the restaurant business. On September 18, 1978, he married Linda Lou (Church) and together they enjoyed 40 years together before she passed away in 2018. Ken had many hobbies and passions, among them were his love of fishing, cooking, snowmobiling and took many trips to go deer and bear hunting in the Upper Peninsula. Ken was very proud of his 13 years he and Linda spent in Apache Junction, Arizona, enjoying very competitive shuffleboard tournaments. Ken was a kind mind who will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, a sister, Arvada Westrick and a step-brother, Gene Hall. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Michael (Ilene)Hall of Kalamazoo; Patricia Hall of Kalamazoo, Steve (Kathy) Ray of Orlando, Florida, his beloved grandchildren, Lance, Mike, Nicki, Amanda and Maya;, as well as three great grandchildren, Alexis, Lucas and Ellie, along with several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother in law, Randy Church, who had become like his own son. Ken's family wanted to make special mention of his many travel friends and his loving neighbors of 45 years, as well.

In accordance with Ken's wishes, cremation will take place and a gathering of close friends and family to honor his life will take place later, in the spring of 2020.
