She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Roy Kent Sheffey and Lillie Lee Collett Sheffey.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, George Kent Sheffey, Charles Wade Sheffey; sisters, Clarice Ann Elzey and Marsha Kay Painter.
Ms. Sheffey was a Special Education Teacher and served in the Public Education system for over 25 years. She taught in the Western North Carolina area and mostly the North Georgia area public Schools. She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the Townson-Smith Chapel. The Reverend Eric Reece will officiate. Burial will follow at the Old Mother Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 pm at the Chapel prior to the service.
