Abigail's parents died in West Hartford between 1803 and 1804. She had five siblings, Asa, Pierpont, Arden, James and Celia. Her family had lived in Hartford area of Connecticut since the mid 1600's and although the exact burial of her parents in unknown, several generations of her ancestors are buried in the Ancient Burying Ground in Hartford.
