Marvin Ray Spears, 78, of Greenbrier, formerly of Stuttgart, went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2019. He was born on March 16, 1941 to the late Huey Thurman Spears and the late Flora Bell Hendrix Spears Arnett.

In June of 1962 he married the love of his life, Jeanie. He was of Baptist faith and farmer for the majority of his life. He never met a stranger always greeting them with a smile and conversation. In his earlier years he was active in coaching his son, Carl, in baseball then later sitting in the stands to cheer on his grandchildren. His greatest joy in life was for his family. He was a loving, caring and supportive Husband, Father, Pops, and Brother. He loved being outdoors, fishing, camping, working in his flower beds and talking on the phone just to see how you are. His quick wit, big smile, and even bigger heart will be missed so much. His legacy will live on forever in his grandchildren who he adored.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Spears, of Blackton, AR and Step-Father Russell Arnett, of Moro, AR.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanie May Spears of Greenbrier; a son Carl Spears and his wife Marsha of Greenbrier; a grandson, Jackson Spears of Greenbrier; a granddaughter, Ella Spears of Greenbrier; his brothers, BJ Spears (Faye) of Hot Springs and Jesse Arnett (Glenda) of Brinkley, AR; and a host of other family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Greenbrier First United Methodist, with Brother Kevin Lyon officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to:
