Rita O'Grady of New City, passed away on March 24, 2014. Rita was born on February 6, 1923 in the Bronx to John and Elizabeth (Collis) Munro. She was married to the late Michael O'Grady on June 26, 1943 at St. Augustine's Church in the Bronx. They were married for 49 years. Rita is predeceased by her husband, Michael; sister, Agnes Yost; brothers, John Munro and William Munro and son-in-law, Clifford Bauer.
Rita's family was her life. She also enjoyed volunteering at Claire's Cove Thrift Shop at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Meals on Wheels, and Hi Tor Animal Shelter.
Family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 7-9pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, New City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 28th at 11am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, West Nyack. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet.
