Died at his residence in East Starke on the night of Sept. 16th, Mr. James W. Adams with Typho – malaria Fever. Mr. Adams has been ailing all summer but did not call himself sick. About two weeks ago he was obliged to give up and take to the bed and was a very sick man from the start. Every attention was given him by his loving family and kind friends, but he gradually grew worse until he breathed his last on Monday night. The funeral was held on Tuesday and the remains deposited in Crosby Cemetery.

James W. Adams was born in Bradford County, Pa., in 1836, but moved with his people when but a child to Elmira, N.Y., where he lived until a few years back. He was married at Elmira in 1854. about four years ago he moved with his family to Norfolk, Va., where they resided but a short time when they moved to Starke, where they resided ever since.

Mr. Adams followed the vocation of a farmer all his life, he was a plain, practical man and had a great many friends. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn his loss. William the eldest, is located at Elmira. Rufus and Sadie are with their mother. The bereaved family have the sympathy of friends in Starke and vicinity.
