Joel Adams age 66, of Florala, Alabama died on July 5, 2013 in a Florala health care facility. He was born January 4, 1947 in Walton County, FL to Joel Thomas Adams and Annie Mable Searncy Adams. Joel served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed Alabama football and its rich traditions and enjoyed sharing that love with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his friends on the weekends. Joel was a master craftsman and enjoyed helping his family and friends with projects such as woodworking and mechanics. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent countless hours in the woods, fields, lakes and ponds of Walton County and south Alabama. His biggest legacy, however, is the immeasurable mark he left on his wife, children and grandchildren. Known to them as Joel, Daddy and Paw Paw, he will forever hold a dear and precious place in each of their hearts. Joel was preceded in death by father, Joel Thomas Adams; mother, Annie Mable Searncy Adams; brother, Ferrin Adams; sister, Nadine Watson.

Joel is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years one son, one daughter, five grandsons, Hunter, Ross, Shaun, Tommy and Ethan who idolized and loved him. He was the keeper of special moments that he shared individually with each of them. Whether it was a ball field, a hunting stand, a fish pond, or just working along side him, he was and will always be their hero.

Funeral 11: 00 AM Monday July 8, 2013 at Evans Funeral Home with Billy Pickron officiating. Interment will be in the Adams Family Cemetery in Florala. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8PM at Evans Funeral Home.
