"Mr. and Mrs. Roy Klein, their son Lester, and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hawkins, Homestead, their son-in-law and daughter, attended funeral services for Mrs. Klein's brother, James Weldon, Girard, Kans., Monday, Aug. 21 at Pittsburg, Kans. Weldon died early Friday morning in his sleep from an apparent heart attack. He had been a resident of the Pittsburg area for several years.
He was born Jan. 2, 1905 at Millersburg, (IA) and on Nov. 28, 1939 married Ethel Snow, who survives with a son Lyle Weldon, Coccon. Other survivors besides Mrs. Klein are three brother, Bruce Weldon, Marengo, (IA), Patrick Weldon, Walker, (IA), and Gerald Weldon, Des Moines, (IA)."

James V. Weldon was the son of Eva Estella (Ginther) Weldon (b. Mar. 28, 1887, d. Jan. 20, 1964) & Patrick H. Weldon (b. 1869, d. 1932). His parents are buried in St. Bernards Catholic Cemetery, Millersburg, Iowa Co., IA. Eva Estella (Ginther) Weldon was the daughter of John Newton Ginther & Celia Adelaide (Van Dyke) Ginther, who are buried in the Millersburg Cemetery, Iowa County, Iowa. Patrick H. Weldon was the son of James Weldon & Margaret Weldon of County Dublin, Ireland, who are both buried in St. Bernards Catholic Cemetery, Millersburg, Iowa County, IA.
James V. Weldon's first wife was Mildred (Janes) Forrester, divorced and he married his second wife, Ethel Snow
in 1939. His son Lyle Weldon is from the first marriage to Mildred (Janes) Forrester.
