Pioneer Woman of
San Gabriel Dies

Funeral services were held Thursday for Mrs. Sarah G. Barclay Locklin, wife of J. Z. Locklin, who died at the family home at San Gabriel Wednesday. The ninety-one year old woman was the last of the pioneer family of nine brothers and sisters.
Services were conducted by the Rev. H. E. Crone, Christian minister, and burial was in the Locklin cemetery.
Born in Madison county, Alabama, December 25, 1849, Mrs. Locklin moved to Texas at the age of four with her parents, settling on what is now known as the Buck Perry place. She married Jim Locklin August 31, 1865. They had no children. The couple settle on the old home place where they lived their entire lives.
