Joseph Wilt
Joseph "Joe" Mark Wilt, 25, of 608 Leffler St., West Burlington, died Monday, Jan. 1, 1990, in a fire at Ryan Fun & Fitness Center, West Burlington.
Born April 28, 1964, in Burlington, he was the son of James O. and Donna Regnier Wilt. Donna
He married Kimberly P. Liggett in May 1987 in Burlington.
He was a supervisor at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant and a volunteer for the West Burlington Fire Department. He was a 1982 graduate of Notre Dame High School and was a student at Southeastern Community College. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, EMT, and Iowa Fire Fighter's Association. He was named fireman of the year in 1987.
Surviving are his wife: his parents of West Burlington; two brothers, James L. Wilt of Smithfield, Va., and John M. Wilt of Long Beach, Calif. John
one sister, Jill Wilt of Bakersfield, Calif.; his grandmothers, Eleene Regnier and Leona Wilt, both of Burlington; and several uncles, aunts,and cousins, and a niece and nephew.
The family will receive friends from 7 ro 8:30 p.m. Thursday with the Christian wake service at 7:30 p.m. at Prugh's Chapel.
The service for Mr. Wilt will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Catholic Church with the Revs. Michael Phillips and Carl Leveling officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
