The Alert hook and ladder company of Monroeville have elected the following officers: President, W.B. Knouse; vice president, H.F. Keeney; foreman, Jacob Sweeny; assistant foreman, J.J. Brautner; O.C. Wolfe; treasurer, Hiram Congleton. This company will participate in the coming tournament at Fort Wayne.

Jacob Sweany of Monroeville was taken to the state insane hospital at Indianapolis today.

This morning, at Monroeville, an autopsy was made of the body of Jacob Sweany, who died at the insane hospital last week. Drs. Leiter, Connolly and McEnery made the autopsy, and find that death was caused by chronic softening of the brain.

Jacob Sweeny of Monroeville, who was taken to the state insane hospital two or three months ago, died at that institution Saturday. His remains were taken to Monroeville for interment. He leaves a wife and family.
