Mrs. Elizabeth Diane Carey Davis, 61, of McKenzie Drive, Danielsville, passed away Monday, February 10, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospice House in Watkinsville, GA.
Born on July 7, 1958 in Royston GA, she was the daughter of the late James Livingston Carey and Frances Lillian Smith Carey. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and attended the Danielsville Evangelical Church.
Survivors include five sons: Neat Davis (Kim) of Danielsville, Johnny Davis (Trina) of Martin, Jeremy Davis (Marie) of Carnesville, Michael Davis (Danielle) of Hartwell and Dustin Davis (Golda) of Carnesville; brothers: Alan Carey of SC, Roger Carey (Diane) of Royston, Wayne Carey (Karen) of Royston, Joe Carey of Habersham County; sister: Lillian Oglesby (Chuck) of Bowman, GA; nineteen grandchildren: Brandon Brooks (Marta Bindyu), Drew Davis (Amber), Aubrey Davis, Ryan Davis (Kelsey Fowler), Brittany Davis (Nick Henderson), Jacob Davis, Gracie Davis, Mason Davis, Alexis Davis, Natalee Davis, Brayden Davis, Colt Davis, Jackson Meadors, Alyssa Davis and Jayce Davis and one great grandchild: Ema Brooks. Host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents: J.T. and Geneva Carey, John and Elizabeth Smith; her husband: Clarence L. “Buddy” Davis; and two brothers: Bennie Lee Carey and Albert Carey.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home, 215 McKenzie Drive, Danielsville, GA.
Funeral services for Mrs. Diane Davis will be held Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Danielsville Evangelical Church with Pastor Dwayne Dickerson and Pastor Billy Swift officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Bowman, GA.
Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to defray medical and funeral expenses.
The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
