Television director
William E. Chesnutt, 63, died Sunday in Valencia after a long illness.
He was born Dec. 15, 1932 in Miami, Fla. and resided in Santa Clarita for the last 23 years. Chesnutt was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America and a member of the Order of the Arrow.
His career in television spanned nearly 40 years as a stage technician and as a director.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Margaret; his daughter, Jessica Chesnutt, of Toledo, Ohio; his two sons, Scott Chesnutt of Agoura Hills and Matthew Chesnutt of Mobile, Ala.; two sisters, O'Shaughnessy Hanna of Sylmar and Frances Chesnutt of Birmingham, Ala.
A memorial service is scheduled 2 p.m. Saturday, in the Chapel of the Oaks, Eternal Valley Memorial Park.
