Janene was born on March 11, 1936 in Fairland, Oklahoma to Cecil and Mildred (Blaylock) George.
After high school Janene attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M college in Miami. After graduation she worked for several years at B.F. Goodrich in Miami before leaving to be a stay at home mom to her two children. She later worked as a secretary for Straight Line Construction.
Janene was very active in her Church at Ottawa Indian Baptist and later at Cardin Baptist Church. She was a great cook and baker who loved to sew and crochet, making many quilts. She also corrected ceramics and painted but above all she loved to play with her grandchildren.
Janene is preceded in death by her parents.
Janene is survived by her husband Bentley, of the home, two children, Travis Reisch and wife Laurie of Miami, Oklahoma, and Melissa Franklin and husband Shannon of Joplin, Missouri, three grandchildren, Rhett, Cody, and Courtney. Janene is also survived by two brothers Lloyd George of Miami, Oklahoma, Jim George and wife Mariam also of Miami, Oklahoma, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Janene will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday February 17, 2020 at the Cardin Baptist Church in Miami, Oklahoma. Pastor Bock White will officiate. A visitation for friends and family will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. just prior to the service. Interment will follow at Ottawa Indian Cemetery.
Janene's father Cecil, and my father Stanley, were brothers. Janene is my cousin.
