MARION | James Timothy Abrams, 56, of Marion, AL died at home on Monday, August 23, 2004.

Services will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Marion United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jim Waters and Dr. Larry Teasley officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery. Kirk Funeral Home Marion Chapel is directing.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Joyce Avery Abrams; daughter, Julee' Abrams Kemp (Justin) and grandchild, Timothy Reid Kemp of Locust Grove, Virginia; sons, Grady Abrams (Myra) of Alexander City and Stewart Abrams of Marion; parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Walter Abrams; sister, Debbie Harrison (Leslie), all of Marion; brother, David Abrams (Lynn) of Tuscaloosa; mother-in-law, Doris Avery of Marion; sisters-in-law, Koky Elliot of Tuscaloosa and Dottie Hoops (Robin) of Hendersonville, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Abrams was born in Sylacauga, Alabama, December 30, 1947 and was a graduate of Marion High School and Livingston University. He recently retired from the Alabama Army National Guard with 34 years of service, of which the last 24 were full time. Mr. Abrams was a member of Marion United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be Chason Abrams, Clint Abrams, Barton Elliot, Chris Harrison, Leslie Harrison, Robin Hoops, John Singley, and Brandon Vaughan.

Honorary pallbearers are John Anderson, Dave Clark, Dennis Harbison, Earl Mayfield, Ben Miller, Glenn Nichols, Jimmy Suttles, Don Ed Tucker, Tim Tucker, Supper Club members, members of the 1966 graduating class of Marion High School, members of the 731st Maintenance Battalion of Tallassee, the 31st Chemical Brigade and OMS NO. 9 of Northport, the 166th Engineer Company of Centreville, the 31st Forward Support Battalion of Enterprise, and the 167th Engineer Company of Demopolis, AL-ARNG, Dr. William Shane Lee and staff, and Dr. Louis B. Nabors and staff of Kirklin Clinic Neuro-Oncology.
