PAUL SHIMANEK

(1956 - 2013)


Paul Shimanek, age 59, formerly of Mishicot, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, March 2, 2013, surrounded by his family.


Paul was born on June 26, 1953 in Green Bay, son of the late Frank and Evelyn (Kunesh) Shimanek. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1982 and served for over 20 years until his honorable discharge in 2003. Paul served in Desert Storm and his love for serving his country took him to many different parts of the U.S. worked for the Department of Defense until his passing.


Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law: Cass and Lisa Shimanek, Gavin Shimanek, all of Two Rivers; five grandchildren: Hannah, Harper, Spencer, Wesley and Alexis; his cat: Haven, who was his pride and joy; one sister-in-law: Connie Shimanek; Two Rivers; and one nephew: Tom Shimanek, Two Rivers. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents; and three brothers: Francis, Michael and Gordon.


Per Paul's request his body was donated to science and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Memorial Service will be the Deacon Alan Boeldt with burial of his cremated remains to take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mishicot, immediately following the service.


The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m.
