John F. Cooper
INMAN, Mar. 3 - John F. Cooper, 57, prominent farmer of the Holly Springs community, died at his home on Inman, route 3, this morning at 7:15 after an illness of two and one-half years. Mr. Cooper was the son of Mrs. Estelle Wingo Cooper of Greer and the late Jimmie Cooper. Beside his mother he is survived by his wife, who was Miss Lillie Staggs; six children, Mrs. Ruby Wilson, Miss Thelma Cooper, Cecil, Carl, Billy, and Jackie Cooper; four brothers, Tom, Jess, Ben, and Fred Cooper; four sisters, Mrs. Mae Dobson, Mrs. Viola Gwinn, Mrs. Eula Jackson, and Mrs. Willie Clement; and one grandchild.
Mr. Cooper was a member of the Friendship Baptist church. Funeral services will be held at the Holly Springs Baptist church at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Harry Granger, assisted by Rev. C. E. Puett. Burial will be on the family plot in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Matthey Golightly, Charles Burch, Wendall Zimmerman, Fred Clayton, Zimmie Golightly, and Herbert Burch. The deacons of the Friendship Baptist church and Grady McGraw, Dean Zimmerman, Ben Brown, H. D. Bright, Charlie Burch, and Boyce Golightly were requested to meet at the church and serve as the honorary pallbearers.
