HUSBAND OF FORMER LOCAL WOMAN DIES

Gen. Sam Edge Dockrell, a native of Hartford, CT, and husband of Baroness Fern Andra, Watseka-born pioneer of the German film industry, died suddenly, Wednesday, Sept. 19, in an Aiken, SC hospital, just one day after he and his wife had returned to the United States from a four year residence in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Gen, Dockrell, son of the late Thomas Harley and Sara MacLellan Dockrell, was a life member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of MA, oldest military guard in the US. For eight years he commanded the Putnam Phalanz of Hartford, named for Gen. Putnam of the Revolutionary Army. He was also a past commander of the VFW post named for his late brother, Donald M. Dockrell.

Burial was in the Cedar Hill cemetery, Hartford. Baroness Andra is remaining in Aiken, and is in residence at 123 duPont Drive.
