Jacquelyn Alverta “Vertie” Pitts, 76, passed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, February 16, 2020 in Philadelphia, MS. Her family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, February 19th from 11 a.m. until the 2:00 p.m. chapel service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.

Mrs. Pitts was born July 23, 1943 in Neshoba County to the late Andrew and Euna Agent. She was a faithful member and volunteer at her church, Crossroads of Life Church in Byram, MS. She was known for her generosity and helping others. She was also a volunteer with the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed arranging artificial flowers.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Vertie was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Pitts; her son, Tommy Pitts, and her brother, Nolen Agent. She is survived by her sisters, Loretta (Gary) Watkins of Philadelphia, MS and Clementine (Lonnie) Rhodes of Union, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads of Life Church in Byram or a charity of your choice in her honor.
