Carol M. Sayeski, age 83, current resident of the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Two Rivers, died early Saturday morning, March 1, 2014 at the Health Care Center.

Carol was born August 17, 1930, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Steve and Mathilda (Messman) Stanull. She attended Two Rivers schools, graduating from Washington High School with the class of 1948. The same week of graduation, Carol began working at Hamilton Mfg. Co. in Two Rivers and after many years of service retired as Executive Secretary to Vice-President, William Friedrich. She also volunteered for the United Way of Manitowoc County from 1985 until 2000 working as a senior aide in the administrative department. Carol married Raymond Sayeski on August 28, 1976 at Holy Redeemer Church in Two Rivers. They were the last couple to celebrate a reception at the former Manitowoc Midway Motor Lodge. Ray preceded her in death on December 7, 1985. Carol was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Two Rivers and the Ladies Society; she was an avid golfer until becoming a cancer survivor in 1981. She also enjoyed crocheting, driving the countryside - especially through Door County, watching figure skating programs, attending shows at the Capital Civic Center, and was an avid reader of the Herald Times Reporter. Carol was a member of the Two Rivers Senior Center and Woodland Dunes; she volunteered many hours at the Washington House in Two Rivers and worked with the Two Rivers Main Street Program. She was also an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society & Heart Association. While residing at the Manitowoc Health Care Center, she participated in an art program sponsored by the Alzheimer's Group; and recently made a gift of archive materials to Silver Lake College for their library and their music scholarship.

She is survived by two nephews and a niece: Jerry (Sue) Stanull, Two Rivers, Gary (Dona) Stanull, Eagan, MN, and Sue (Jim) Thomas, Franklin, WI; brother-in-law, Leonard Sayeski, Two Rivers; and advocate: Lucy Kujawski-Francois, Two Rivers. In addition to her parents and her husband, Ray, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lester (Marge) Stanull, Harold Stanull, Roland "Sputcy" (Violet) Stanull; and a niece, Doris Moen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 17th & East Park St., Two Rivers. Rev. Daniel Walters will officiate at the service, with burial to follow in Pioneer Rest Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Friends may call at St. John's Lutheran Church after 9:30 a.m. Friday until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or the donor's choice.
