Gilbert S. Bell - age 72 of Outlet Rd. died Thursday, October 12, 2000 at Maine General Medical Center, Augusta after a brief illness. He was born in Sedgwick on February 7, 1928 the son of Edwin W. and Doris B. (Carter) Bell.

Mr. Bell attended school in Lamoine and was a U.S Army veteran.

He was a member of the Apostolic Church of Chelsea where he was very active in the Church.

Mr. Bell co-owned and operated Bell's Auto Sales and Salvage on Rt. 17 for over 40 years.

He was pre-deceased by his parents and a son, Gilbert S. Bell, Jr.

Mr. Bell is survived by his wife of 7 years, Susie F. (Harmon) Bell of Augusta; three daughters, Rebecca Turcotte of Clinton, Candida Bell of Chelsea and Rohdell Bell of Chelsea; two step-sons, James R. Scally of Saco and Patrick Scally of San Diego, CA; two step-daughters, Dorothy Scally of India and Cindy Kelley of Harrington; two brothers, Carl Bell of Chelsea and Robert Bell of Augusta; 13 grandchildren, his friend and long time business partner Pearl Pitman of Windsor and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends may visit Monday, Oct. 16th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM with Pastor Harold Peaslee, Jr., pastor of the Apostolic Church of Chelsea officiating.

Burial will follow in the family cemetery, Bell cemetery in Chelsea.
