William Bowker "Bill" Preston died suddenly at his home Friday evening, May 22, 1998 of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 27, 1998 at the Bedford Ward Chapel. Interment was in the Bedford Cemetery.
Bill Preston was born March 28, 1951 in Afton. At the time of his death he was only 47 years old. Bill ws the third child born to Royal and Louise Preston. He was named after his great grandfather William B. Preston who was one of the early presiding bishops of the LDS Church. He was a baptized member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He attended elementary and high school in the public schools of Star Valley. He also attended a trade school in Rock Springs..
Bill worked at several jobs in Star Valley, Rock Springs and Gillette, WY before returning home to operate Preston Ranch with his brother Roger.
Bill always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. He was kind and gentle. He didn't complain, he didn't gossip, he wasn't negative and he never knowingly hurt anyone. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sister Marsha Preston McKim of Denver, and his brother Roger Preston of Bedford.
