Yvonne T. Little, age 91 of Gulfport, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, February 16, 2020. Though Yvonne was born in Columbia, Mississippi in 1928, she lived most of her life in Gulfport.
She graduated from Gulfport High School in 1947. Although retired for many years, she was a teller for various banks on the Coast ~ Hancock, Gulf National, Merchants, as well as the Naval Retirement Home Bank. She was also a retired “Boutique Lady” at Steinmart in Biloxi.
Yvonne was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her parents ~ Clyde and Pearl Tolar; a sister ~ Angeline Watson; and her husband ~ Dr. Richard Little.
Left to cherish her memories are her two children ~ Belinda “Boo” Johnson of Gulfport and John Keith Johnson, Jr. of Washington D.C.; a step-daughter ~ Linda Bresnahan of Louisville, Kentucky; a sister ~ Geneva Bunch of Biloxi; a brother ~ Billy Tolar of Gulfport; two granddaughters ~ Danika McCall of Ocean Springs and Dejon McCall of Loveland, Colorado; a step-granddaughter ~ Lindsey Bresnahan; and two great grandsons ~ McGuire McCall and Noah Apostolopoulos.
The family welcomes friends and family to celebrate Yvonne’s life Wednesday, February 26, at 1:00 PM, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Gulfport (5007 Lawson Avenue). A reception will follow at the Great Southern Club in downtown Gulfport (at the top of the Hancock Whitney Bank Building – 2510 14th Street).
A private graveside service for the family will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Trinity United Methodist Church Memorial Fund (5007 Lawson Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39507) or Feed My Sheep (feedmysheepgulfport.org).
