Marion L. Brown, 79, Brainerd, died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at Sauk Rapids Good Shepherd Home of Sauk Rapids. She was born Aug. 13, 1920, in Dahlton, Sask., Canada, to Arvid and Helga (Bloomquist) Hedin. She served in the Women's Canadian Army. After her discharge, she married E. Wesley Brown on June 9, 1950. They adopted two children, Arvid and Arloene. Survivors include a daughter, Arloene Brown, Brainerd; two sisters, Hellen Pierce, Naicam, Sask., Canada, and Deloris Curtis, Kimball; a brother, John Hedin, Naicam, Sask., Canada; two stepsisters, Florence Hedin, Saskatoon, Sask., Canada, and Arvilla Mitchel, Coronach, Sask., Canada; and special friends, Carol and Henry VanderVern, Canada. Her husband, a son, Arvid, and a brother, Oliver, died earlier. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Max Thames officiating. Burial will be in Vaale Cemetery of Brainerd. Memorials are preferred to the Seventh Day Adventist Church or the Good Shepherd Women's Auxiliary for the chapel memorial fund. Friends may call an hour before services Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are with Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home of Brainerd.
