Mary Jane Hypes-Lambert, 86, of Princeton, departed this life Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at her home with her family by her side. She was a former employee of Brock Restaurant in Princeton, and had served as a caregiver for several families in our area. Mary Jane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. While her health permitted, she attended church at The Bridge on Mercer Street in Princeton. She was a fabulous cook, raised a garden for many years and enjoyed canning. Mary Jane also enjoyed working in her flower beds around her home.

Born January 24, 1927, at Pikeville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Edward Shannan Gooslin (1887-1964) and Mary "Polly" Chapman-Gooslin (1885-1959). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Gerome Dungan (1915-1996) whom she married on January 26, 1946 in Botetourt, VA (per VA Marriage License #2372, Giles County, VA, 1946) (marriage ended in 1949); her second husband Jessie Luther Hypes II (1921-1985) whom she married on April 2, 1979 in Giles County, VA (per VA Marriage License #79-013318, Giles County, VA, 1979); and her third husband, Lewis Edward Lambert (1916-2009) whom she married in 1987; an infant son, George Edward Gooslin (1959-1950); fifteen brothers and sisters; and her son-in-law, Donnie Harry (Deceased).

She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her five children, Jessie Luther Hypes III & wife Dora Hypes, Peggy Hypes-Cox & husband Vernon Cox; Sharon Hypes-Thompson & husband Tommy Thompson; Sheila Hypes-Harry; and Carl Hypes & wife Sharon Hypes, all of Princeton; nine grandchildren; thirty five great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and her caregivers, Tracy McKenzie and Cindy Christian.

A service of celebration will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, August 30, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor C. T. Lilly officiating, with songs provided by Eddie and Mary Day. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
