John Paul Botts, 43, of the 8500 block of Hammett Ave., passed away Aug. 1, 2007, in his home after a courageous battle with lung cancer. John spent more than 20 years in the collision repair business in the Hampton Roads area, last working with B&E Collision Repair. He is survived by his wife, Diane Steen Botts; his mother, Betty R. Botts; and stepchildren, Christopher T. and Megan M. Taylor, all of Norfolk; three sisters, Tonya Rogers of Pennsylvania, Tammy Perez of Suffolk and Diane Tison of Norfolk; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a large family of deaf friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Fred Botts and father, Frederick Botts. A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 3 p.m. Burial will be private.
