He was also extremely dedicated to his wife. After 41 years of marriage, he still would flirt with her, and when she was sick he couldn't help but hover over her. They did everything together. They would take a stroll together every evening. They also enjoyed traveling together. He enjoyed showing off the pictures from the yearly cruise they would take, or from their latest trip to the Philippines.
He had many hobbies in addition to playing the guitar. He loved going fishing. He would take along his son or his granddaughters, and was always so proud to bring a big one home for his wife to cook. He also had a classic 1957 Chevy truck that he was restoring, that his father had bought for him when he was younger. He painted it bright yellow and loved to talk about it to whoever listened. He loved music also, his favorite were the oldies from his youth and he had a large collection of vinyl records of those bands.
Since his passing, the one thing heard the most from those who knew him is how he was always smiling and laughing. He loved having a good time with friends and family, and his children remember he has always cracked the silliest jokes.
He was very much the military man, and after 20+ years he retired as a MSgt. During his service, he did a tour in Vietnam. He came home with many stories he loved to share, not about the wars, but about the people , local food and experiences off base. He's also traveled with the military to Germany, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, and the Philippines.
He was diagnosed with a grade 4 Glioblastoma in September of 2019, and fought a difficult battle though kept a brave face on for the family. On Saturday, February 22, 2020, he slipped away peacefully with his loved ones beside him.
