Mary Lou Rossato, 81, of Kingsford, Mich., passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020, at Evergreen Assisted Living, Kingsford, Mich.

She was born August 14, 1938, in Iron Mountain, Mich., daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Shea) LaJeunesse. Mary Lou was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain and a graduate of Iron Mountain High School, class of 1956. After high school she graduated from Northern Michigan University with a teaching degree. Mary Lou was married on May 27, 1960, in Iron Mountain to Mario Rossato. He preceded her in death on August 19, 2006. She worked at the Dickinson County Library until the 1970’s and then worked as a bookkeeper for Rossato Plumbing. Mary Lou belonged to the Writers Club and the Genealogy Association.

She enjoyed playing bingo, reading, listening to country music, and especially the time spent with family and friends.

Survivors include two sons, Peter (Teresa) Rossato, Kingsford, Mich., and John Rossato, Iron Mountain, Mich.; two daughters, Anne (John) Main, Green Bay, Wis., and Jane Rossato, Iron Mountain, Mich.; two brothers, Larry (Pat) Loar, Milwaukee, Wis., and Jim LaJeunesse, Felch, Mich.; two sisters, Milly LaJeunesse, Milwaukee, Wis., and Marie “Sissy” LaJeunesse, Felch, Mich.; six grandchildren, Jason (Racheal) Rossato, Matt Rossato, Patrick (Becky) Leifker, Mike (Jackie) Leifker, Rick Rossato and Tony (Simone) Rossato, four great-grandchildren, Parker Rossato, Aria Rossato, Adaleigh Leifker and Miles Leifker; one brother-in-law, Robert (Georgina) Rossato, Norway, Mich.; two sisters-in-law, Sara LaJeunesse, Manitowoc, Wis. and Helen Rossato, Vulcan, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mario, Mary Lou was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph LaJeunesse, Marty Loar, Paul Loar and Wayne Loar; and two brothers-in-law, Ben (Beverly) Rossato, and Adolph Rossato.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 3, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, Mich. A Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Rev. Jim Danielson will officiate. Burial will take place in Norway Cemetery in the spring.
