Essie Adron Deel was born on Friday, May 26, 1899 in Rotan, Fisher County, Texas to George Washington Deel and Florence Emaline "Galley" Brookshire.

She had thirteen siblings: Alexander Lafayette Deel, Walter Robert Deel, James Emmit Deel, Charlie Ivan Deel, George "Henry" Deel, Birtie Guy Deel, Alley Lee Deel, Flora Lurena Deel Blount, Katy "Jewell" Deel Miller, Florence Virginia Deel, Noel "Pete" Deel, Willie Graves Deel, and Orris V. Deel, Sr.

Her paternal grandparents were Peter Abraham Deel, III and Isabella Serena Duff and her maternal grandparents were Graves Goodrich Brookshire and Sarah Frances Bacon.

She married Ira Tom Ivison on May 22, 1916 in Nolan County, Texas. They were blessed with the following children: Ira Truman Ivison, Chester Deel Ivison, Allie Eber Ivison, Kenneth Joe Ivison, Tommy Wayne Ivison, Oma Ann Ivison and Junie Wilborn Ivison.

She died on Wednesday, May 1, 1974 in Scurry County, Texas. She was 74 years old.
