Obituary
Billy Ray Hooten, 79 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at his home. He was born in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Alton and Mildred Hooten, and was raised in Gainesville, Florida and attended Gainesville High School. Mr. Hooten had made his home in Lake City since 1995 having moved here from Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Robbie Jean “Bobbie Jean” Hooten, in January of 2018. Also, preceding him in death was, two sons, Donald and Paul Hooten, his brother, James Hooten and his sister, Jean Reid.

Survivors include his children, Teresa Marlen Scott (Jeffery), Lake City, FL, Raymond Hooten, Jacksonville, Jasper Jones, Ft. Worth, TX, Richard Holbrook (Pamela), Easley, SC, Aline Marie DeGrove (Ronnie), Lisa Kathleen Grinstead (Scott), Jeffrey Jones (Kimberly) and David Jones (Karen) all of Jacksonville, 24 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Tillotson Cemetery in Mayport, FL. Interment will follow. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the cemetery from 1-2:00 PM.
