Maxine Goss was born October 28, 1908, in Fruita. She spent her childhood here, and attended school at Loma. She obtained her teaching certificate from Western State College in Gunnison.
She married Kenneth E. Hardy on May 25, 1930, in Gunnison. Mr. Hardy died July 30, 1976 in Colorado Springs.
Mrs. Hardy taught school at White River, Colorado, and for a number of years worked as a cook at Ent air force base at Colorado Springs. She also lived for a time in Minnesota, moving to Weatherford in 1978.
She was a member of the Christian Church in Austin, Minnesota.
She is survived by her step-mother, Mrs. Ruth Goss of Fruita; a daughter, Mrs. Sue Snyder of Weatherford; three sons, Harry G. Hardy of Helena, Montana, Louis M. Hardy of Stockton, Calif., and Kenneth D. Hardy of Colorado Springs; a brother, Charlie W. Goss of Oroville, Calif.; two half-brothers, Darrel Goss of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Robert D. Goss of Riverside, Calif.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Virginia Haller of Grand Junction, and Mrs. Margaret Kunard of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and five grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held November 28 in Weatherford, Oklahoma, with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery in Austin, Minnesota.
